Cherwood House Care Centre Services

A specific member of staff is allocated to each resident during the settling-in period. They will look after the personal needs of that resident, liaise with family and friends.
Our aim is to create a homely atmosphere where family and friends are always welcome and where residents may remain independent but safe in the knowledge that care is always at hand
Residents may bring their own furniture and personal possessions. There is a lot of flexibility about meals. Residents can bring their pet. Activities are arranged daily. We offer a wide ranging activities programme.

We offer 24 hour nursing & residential care on two separate wings in a choice of single or double rooms - many en suite.
We have numerous sitting and dining areas.

Cherwood House Care Centre also provide Day care and Respite care services.
Many of our toilets and bathrooms are adapted for the elderly and infirm.
We offer a public bar which usually opens at weekends and public holidays - visitors are welcome to join residents for a snifter (or two) at any time when the bar is open.
We offer an in house laundry service.
We have a hairdressing salon and a visiting physiotherapist.
Copeland McPherson, Lay Chaplain to Cherwood House, visits weekly.
Also  16 beautiful independent living cottages situated close to Cherwood House care centre and these are overseen by a named member of staff 24hrs a day.
Residents of the cottages may take advantage of all services within Cherwood House care centre or live independently as they wish, whilst enjoying the security that the home can offer.
The one or two bedded cottages benefit from a call bell system linked directly to the residential wing so help and support is never far away if required.

Kitchenettes are available to residents, two on each wing - snacks etc. can be prepared at any time.
Visitors are welcome to join residents for a meal at a small charge.
Our considerable garden areas are all wheelchair accessible - there are plenty of sitting areas with appropriate seating, plus a summerhouse - all for our resident's use.
On our Nursing Wing, we offer an enclosed secure area for our dementia residents and more wandering residents - their safety is further enhanced by the exit doors on our downstairs Nursing Wing being alarmed.
All sitting, dining, recreational, private and communal space and areas meet the required standard. Our lifts, ramps and doorways accommodate wheelchairs to the required standard.
